In October 2016, our third year history students planted crocus bulbs. They did this to remember the one and a half million Jewish children and thousands of other children who died in the Holocaust. The yellow colour of the flowers reminds us of the yellow star Jews were forced to wear under Nazi rule. The flowers remind us of all the children who perished. Planting the crocus bulbs was sad but it was hopeful too. As you can see from the pictures, the crocus flowers have now appeared. The flowers remind us that there is still beauty in our world and hope for the future. These flowers will serve as a constant reminder to our school community of those who lost their lives during the Holocaust.
