We enjoyed a lot of celebrations and traditions the past two weeks in St Mary’s College.
We started with Catholic schools week- TY students designed information on our Religious Education Notice about this special week in our school. They also spent Catholic Schools Week organising a “One Good Deed” campaign – where students nominated someone who did a good deed for them and in return, the students received a special prize at our CEIST Prayer Service. Congratulations to Ciara, David and Alex for making such a positive contribution to our school community.
Students also kept with tradition in making St Brigid’s crosses in our school this week, both made with rushes and with coloured straws
Our final celebration was last Friday. It was a very special day in our school as we celebrated the fourth year of Ceiliúradh CEIST. We held a prayer service for this celebration, including the blessing of our St Brigid Crosses by Father Towey, and lovely hymns sung by our wonderful choir. Sincere thank you to Father Towey for being part of our special celebration and to Ms McDermott and Ms Tighe for organising a wonderful celebration for us all to enjoy
